Alyssa Young is an artist / designer currently located in suburban Pittsburgh, PA. She creates original and commissioned works in many mediums including pyrography (wood burning), painting, drawing, and ceramics. Her most impressive works are her incredibly detailed wood-burned portraits both of humans and animals. She also enjoys painting-live for an event as she has at Stray Cat Studio, and on a wearable dress for the 2019 opening of Tiger Lily Dress Shop in Beaver Falls, PA. Alyssa is drawn to work for communities and has created several mural pieces along Gist Street in Pittsburgh, PA and at Herban Touch Juice Lab in Beaver, PA. She looks forward to teaching more outdoor painting classes after teaching her first class in 2018 at Sahli and Gertrude Nature Park in Chippewa, PA.

She has also worked with Stray Cat Studio since 2014. She currently functions as their retail designer and creates life-size dioramas by hand-crafting dramatic visuals and arranging artisan-created products in their front windows. She was a chosen artist for their Mug of the Month Club and works with the studio’s production team to help design product lines and for the, attached, gift shop.
