Alyssa specializes in pyrography - “the art or process of producing designs or pictures (as on wood or leather) by burning or scorching with hot instruments *” She has been practicing this art form on wood since 2011.
Around 2015 she began her professional art career. “Alyssa Young Art” became an LLC and was establishing itself through word-of-mouth commissions, primarily in portrait work, while she worked at a small ceramics studio and artisan gift shop in rural Pennsylviana.
All pieces in this gallery were commissioned with the exception of the last two pieces - nature watercolors which were a submission to a show at The National Audubon Society.
